International Workshop in Copenhagen,
Tuesday the 13th May 2008
Development assistance is being radically transformed.
The workshop conference will bring together representatives from partners, donors and civil society in order to discuss ways in which ownership of development processes by partner countries - not only partner governments - can be promoted through a democratic process.
The international conference is hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Denmark and Alliance2015.
The recommendations from the conference will feed into the discussion at the High Level Forum which will take place in Accra in September 2008. The Forum is a follow-up to the Paris Declaration from 2005. In Paris, partner countries and donors agreed that development assistance should be more efficient, have a higher impact on poverty, and that transaction costs should be reduced, through ensuring national ownership, alignment and harmonisation.
The conference is by invitation only. Participants can on this web-site find the updated program, a list of participants, practical information (about the venue, hotels in Copenhagen etc.) as well as background material and relevant links to other web-sites.
Others with an interest in the subject will also be able to access the web-site and find material relevant to the subject. |
